Old laptop drives

I have a hard drive with win98 from my old Compaq 1930. The computer its self went bad, but the hard drive is still good. Is there some way I can hook it up to something like a usb connector and access the information or possibly buy an old laptop and swap out drives?

U cant do the usb adapter thing, the wiring would be so complicated, i mean an ata to usb..uumm...

do you want the drive in ur pc, or another laptop/

Actually I just found a bad dell laptop drive laying around and noticed that the old compaq drive were darn near identical, so I put the compaq in the dell holder. Maybe I can just stick it in the laptop and get it to work.

Just un-screw the compartment on the bottom of the laptop. The HDD is usually underneath the touchpad. Just disconnect the drive and then put that other one in.
