Official Windows 10 Thread

First of all, sorry if this is not the right place.
Windows 10 May 2021 Update or Windows 10 21H1 is now publicly available and you can upgrade, you can find everything you need from this site (or wait for update on Windows updater)

But if You have previous version what is OK ie witout errors, read the following.....
I personally don't think you should do so much work and start updating your Windows through Windows Update service or worse if you need to do an update using an .iso file or USB.
You can do it much faster if You already have installed Windows 10 2004 with some updates listed bellow (these are mandatory) and Your currently installed Windows is OK, ie there is not any errors availble.
Then 21H1 is already in Your computer, only its features isn't till enabled. Simply enable them and everything is done.
There is only one thing to do in a few minutes and one restart.
This assumes that you have the Servicing stack update for Windows 10, version 2004, and the update May 11, 2021 - KB5003173 (OS Build 19041.985) or what ever a later cumulative update installed on your computer.
How to upgrade in minutes?
Here is once again what needs to be done and what remains to be done.
Before updating to Windows 10, version 21H1 using an enablement package, you must be running Windows 10, version 2004 or 20H2. You must have the following prerequisites installed before applying this update:
Restart information: You must restart your device after you apply this update.
Update replacement information: This update does not replace any previously released update.

After users experimented with different settings, it was determined that the bug is caused by disabling the News and Interests widget on the taskbar.

Once disabled and a new system tray icon is shown, it triggers the glitch. Once you enable the News and Interests widget again on the taskbar, the icons begin to display correctly.

Yea I'm not so sure, this instant it first came up (couple months ago) I disabled it and haven't seen that problem before.

If you read the link, this issue is caused by disabling the recent forced up date of the "News and Interest" on the task bar. If you disable this new feature... it will f**k up your system tray.

That is precisely what I'm talking about. I disabled it the instant it popped up last month for me, my tray has been fine. That's why I quoted that part specifically in the article.

Since then I've updated 6 machines of various hardware and no problem. I have a serious feeling 90% of the problems people have post update isn't really a M$ issue but more so a problem with what's installed on the machine and how one handles their software. I'm speaking on both consumer and enterprise level. Other updates break the shit out of the OS, like that update that breaks all printing. These are rather rare though.
