Well I am looking at getting a helmet cam for when I got riding with the four wheelers and I found one that has 1gig of memory that comes with it. and my question is how long do you think I would be able to record video on 1gig or memory

Depends on the quality really.

On average, maybe 45 minutes with good quality video and audio? But that could be WAY off. I have no idea of the audio/video quality that it records.

640 x 480 pixel (15 frames per second)
320 x 240 pixel (20 frames per second)
160 x 120 pixel (25 frames per second)
that is what you can use and yes it does record sound
also would 15fps look pretty good? or would the other ones be better to use

Frankly 15fps would probably look like crap, cause if you've ever saw anything below 30 it seems jerky, i'd reccomend something that could atleast record 25fps at or above 320 x 240 resolution

30 fps is crappy when you're talkin first person shooters and stuff.. but when it comes to videos, i think mainstream videos these days are all 30 fps. HOWEVER, since maybe there's gonna be a lot of fast moving stuff.. maybe you'd need higher.. but i don't know if such thing exists, since most of today's videos are 30fps..

My digital camera has a 512MB card. When it takes videos, the times are:

640*480 = 10 min.

320*240 = 30 min.

160*120 = 60 min.

With a 1GB card, just multiply those times by 2.
