I've been a long lasting fan of nvidia, I've never purchased an ati card
but I've been looking between these two cards

Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H290XT512DVN-R Radeon HD 2900XT 512MB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
or
Newegg.com - EVGA 640-P2-N825-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

It all boils down to Radeon 2900xt or Nvidia 8800gts
or maybe you should suggest a different card?

I saw some graphic quality/performance spreadsheets on gamespot.com and it seemed as if the 2900xt blows the 8800gts away

and maybe i'll make my nvidia chipset mobo angry if i put an ati card into it... haha just a thought

yes. It is the best buy on the market right now. Someones goin on about the ATI 3800 series in two weeks. but 10$ says its double the price of the GT.

ok, thank you, 8800gt it is

anyone know if any form of DX-10 will make its way into XP? I really, really, really, really, don't feel like dealing with Vista
