Norton Internet Security 2005 Help

Hey people,
I am currently having trouble with the Firewall/ Program Control section of Norton Internet Security. When I try to remove multiple programs listed under Manual Program Control (in this case the new version of windows live messenger), Norton just freezes up.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks

Norton is the problem.

Its a memory hog, and a waste of money.

Use Zone Alarm.


Your system isn't powerful enough to have Norton installed.

If your pc only freezes with norton then yes I would also recommend removing it. If your pc freezes very frequently then there could be other causes.

When uninstalling norton make sure to download another firewall first then disconnect from the net too uninstall norton and then install the firewall. At which point reconnect your internet.

Well my PC doesn't freeze up only the Norton program.

That means that Norton Antivirus is hogging up your memory. Its a common thing that Norton does with every system.

My advice: Remove it. There are better choices out there that use less resources.

I recommend Avast. Give it a go, you'll notice a difference!
