Hey guys so i got $500 to spend on parts for a new PC. I think I will be using my old ATI HD 3870, 450w PSU, and AMD athlon II x2 240 in this build.

so i need ur help on what other parts i could get for $400-$500 thanks guys!!!!

id toss the x2 and get a phenom II x3 740 oem

For $500 you could build something faster than any of the parts you want to use. Let me see what I can cook up.

There's a lot of issues with your suggestion fr34ky. That x3 is good but I think I got this solid.
 
It looks good, mate. Be sure to try unlocking that 555 to see if the other cores are good or not.

I would go for the new PSU.

You could get a faster card than a 5570 for that price if you looked around- those cards aren't good enough to take advantage of DX11. While I would normally say go for a corsair power supply, the Corsair CX line is terrible. Stay away from those units.
