Hey guys so i got $500 to spend on parts for a new PC. I think I will be using my old ATI HD 3870, 450w PSU, and AMD athlon II x2 240 in this build.

id toss the x2 and get a phenom II x3 740 oem

I disagree. It is worth keeping, just what do you want to put them in? Not a half-way decent gaming rig, but there are other tasks that would make it worth keeping.

It looks good, mate. Be sure to try unlocking that 555 to see if the other cores are good or not.

You could get a faster card than a 5570 for that price if you looked around- those cards aren't good enough to take advantage of DX11. While I would normally say go for a corsair power supply, the Corsair CX line is terrible. Stay away from those units.
