I have a socket 754 mobo, sempron 2.0gig, and 512mb ram.
it is not in a case.
there are no drives hooked up.
and using onboard video but plan to pop in my 9600pro.
psu is 400 wats with all the nececary connectors.
there is NO power at all.
no fans on anything.
help would be appriciated

sounds to me like a bad power supply, but just incase to make sure try switching the power cord? sry thats all i can think of

I guessing its my mobo also. Does anybody have a 754 mobo with 4 ddr slots, and a agp slot?

Have you tried changing power cord? I had a bad cord once, i started to freak out.

If it's not turning on at all it has to be the power supply. Do you have another to swap?

You can test to see if the problem is your power supply by doing the following:

1. Straighten out a staple so that it looks like an 'U'
2. Make sure the computer is plugged into the wall.
3. Place one end of the staple into the molex connector for the motherboard with a green lead coming out of it. Make sure it touches the metal contact in the whole.
4. Then insert the other end of the staple into any of the wholes with a black wire coming out of it. Once you make contact with the metal contact in this whole; your PSU fan should spin up if it is working. If it does not spin up then the problem most definitely is your PSU.
