So I just moved down to Indiana and I finally got broadband installed in my apartment and when I went to hook up my desktop PC I'm not able to connect to the internet. When I view the Windows Task Manager under the Networking tab it shows the message...

No Active Network Adapters Found.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I'm running Win XP Pro x64. It worked back home too. I would try and resit the network card, but I have a DFI Lanparty board with onboard Lan.

Can you check device manager to see if your network card is listed there. Otherwise it might be dead or corrupted driver.

It's the same, everyone calls it a network card rather it's buildin or not.

How about I say network adapter then?

I looked around in the bios and found something about a 2nd gigabit eithernet adapter which was disabled, so I enabled it and booted up and everything worked just fine. Really weird. Thanks tho.
