NFS Most wanted crash at start

I just got need for speed most wanted, everything installed fine but when I go to launch the game the splash screen comes up for about 2 minutes then it says speed.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

have you tried uninstalling/installing
try a no cd fix

I tried uninstalling and a few fixes do you know of any fixes that are good?

Apply a No-CD fix, follow the directions (usually you have to copy the game to the HD, including all the files on the DVD)

You can get a proper working no cd patch from coughcoughgamecoughburncoughworldcoughcough
v1.3 works the best
