My onboard ProSavage graphics won't work with my Command & Conquer game.

If I put in a video card that I know works with the game, will that totally override the onboard stuff so I can play?

Thanks for any help.

Usually yes, providing you install the correct drivers when you put the card into your system. Ensure first that the type of card you are buying (if you do not have one already), is compatible with your motherboard.

Sometimes there is an option to disable onboard graphics and sound cards in BIOS, but this may depend on your particular motherboard.

because ur computer sounds old (if it carnt play C&C).no offence
u might have an old motherboard so ur best bet is to get a AGP video card.
what are ur specs

I do have an old motherboard, but I am going to upgrade the Celeron to a Pentium 4 and upgrade the RAM.

It has a 4x AGP slot.

ok. get the 3.0 pemtium 4 and over clock to 4ghz, and 2 gb ram.
i dont think ur going to get a very good video card for a 4x AGP.

if u can afford it and ur not going to use it for gaming get a whole new computer . u could proberly get one for 700

yea. u should get a new computer
a geforce fx 5 series is probably the best agp u can get
