Here are my system specs: Abit KN8 SLI wiht Nvidia NF4 chipset: 2 GIGs of DDR 400 Value Ram in DC. Maxtor 100 Gig SATA 1, Benq DVDRW Dual Layer, XFX 7900GT, AMD 64 3200+ Venice Core 2.2Ghz. I just installed this new card last night and got the following scores (although this card took about 20 monutes to come to life!!) 3DMark03 = 14,780 3DMark05 = 7890. Core is running 525 and Memory 1550. Is this acceptable or should I expect more from this card and system  Thanks.......yes i'm a noob here!

Something is amiss, i got half that score with my setup even before i overclocked it. I think you should be getting better scores.

Yeah that seems slightly low. When i tried a Gigabyte 7800GT on my system I got a 3DMark03 score of over 16000 but the 3DMark05 score wasn't much higher than yours it was just a few marks below 8000. But then again, that was with a 7800GT, you are using a 7900GT so your scores should be higher than the scores I was getting.

Here is the complete story! Powered on the system...looked good initially..........ran 3DMark05 and the first test showed 58 fps and then as the test loaded the card started to artifact and run at 1 FPS and graphics were unreadable. 2nd test started off really slow 6 to 8 FPS and then gradually picked up speed. First bench = 3740. Removbed all the drivers and reformatted the drive (new build so NP). Added cool bits and the card would only OC by 10/25 from 500/750(1500). Called XFX...and asked if it was a burn in issue and they said no! Good to go at power up or there probably was a GPU or Memory issue with the card. Even though it ran okay after that (7850 to 8100 in 3DMark05) I  decided to RMA athe card with Tiger Direct and they were out of stock so they are sending a BFG 7900GT. Am I better off with the BFG?
