Hey guys,

Im ready to upgrade computers and I want to build my own, every bit of it. Instead of buying a barebone and adding to it, I want to build everything.

There are some parts that Im not completly knowledgable about, including mobos and the general assembly of how everything goes together without blowing everything up by plugging it in wrong somewhere.

My computer now is a
P4 3.0 w/ HT
PCChips Mobo
1gig ram
7800gs AGP
DVD Burner
Xblade Case
Aspire 520W PSU
Sound Blaster Audigy
80gig harddrive

I want to move to AMD and I want to upgrade to PCI-E finally.

I searched Newegg and put together some parts that I *THINK* will fit together and work well. I am also on a big budget. My total cost for the parts to this computer is around $. Here they are.

Mobo: ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 - $75 Click
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+(89W) Toledo 2.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 - $240 Click
Case: Coolmax Black Case $25 Click
PSU: APEVIA (ASPIRE) ATX-AS600W-BL - $100 Click
GFX: eVGA Geforce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 - $200 Click
RAM: Patriot Signature 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) - $220 Click
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster SB0570 Audigy SE 7.1 - $28 Click
HD: Western Digital Caviar 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $44 Click
CD: LITE-ON Black 16X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW - $32 Click

Please tell me what you guys think of all the products and if they will work together and if its worth it. Also, how much do you think I can sell my current setup for?

Recommend you consider a better case, aluminum, two 120 fans , removable MB mounting pan. Good luck on your project.

yeah.. get am2 instead of socket 939. it's a bit more expensive cuz of different ram and all.. but it's worth the money. but if that's what you want.. it looks alright.
