new to all this

I recently upgraded to a fairly decent system (Pentium 4, 256RAM, 59GbHD) with a Pioneer AO4 DVD burner. I would like to be able to copy/edit my DVD movies with the least amount of effort and the best picture quality. I have Nero 5.5.6. I am not all that tech-savvy so any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanx in advance!

Well, most DVD's use the 9 GB media, which is not available for us, so the best you can really do is rip the DVD, create an SVCD and burn that on a 4.7 GB Media. :\
