new motherboard help

hey I've been having problems with my motherboard lately and it doesnt help that Abit doesn't exist anymore, so I'm going to get a new one... I'm willing to pay no more than 150. i have a Pentium d 820, i don't want to shell out another $200 dollars for a decent processor. work with my Pentium d? if not are there any good working solid boards on the market that work with Pentium D's and have a fire wire port?

should be fine, it even says it in the specifications

also make sure your case can fit the new MOBO

im not worried about size i got a nice big antec case... but thanks, i just wasnt sure, because the motherboard just says pentium..and not pentium ds

If it can support Core 2 Duo's, I'm sure it can support Pentium D's.

It will support the Pentium D as long as your runs on an 800FSB or higher.

And there more featured boards for cheaper, like this one.

if you live by a Fry's I'd wait until their next bundle package, just recently they had a Q8200 + ECS motherboard combo for $158 and an E8500 + ECS motherboard combo for $135, upgrading to a core2duo from that pentium D would be a huge jump, I know, I used to have one...
