Hi there folks, first time post so any help would be much appreciated i have lurked the forums for quite some time

I'm no expert at building PC's but understand a fair bit and am learning more now id prefer to buy a PC for now and upgrade it in the future (while working on building my own while owning an aok one)

my questions would be with this rig how do you think games would perform? i primarily play league of legends / skyrim / diablo III / Guild wars 2 and wish to start Wildstar.

also i guess the optimum test would be crysis3/tomb raider/battlefield4

im not so worried about ultra/max settings i'd be happy with high or even medium in some cases.

The worst part about that rig is the GPU. The 750 non TI isn't that great and I have a feeling you'll be pretty disappointed.

ok cool thank you, other than that the rig seems ok to you then?

i could probably stretch to a 760 ive heard these are pretty good cards or how about a 750ti i guess these being kind of an -in between- wont be the best choice either, i could update these at a later date as around £700 is my upper limit i think for the moment.

in fact my old rig which i use at the moment is rather bad to todays standards, if i find the specs when i get home would you be happy to advise on which parts to buy would be the best to use existing components? i think it would more or less be a complete rebuild minus the ram/GPU (which still isnt too great but does me well)

im fine with the bulding part its more the techniqual specification side of things im starting to learn now.

Considering it's an OEM setup and only having a 450w PSU I would not try and run a 760 on that machine. Honestly I personally think you should build your own.

build your own seems to be the way to go it seems, i didnt actually notice the 450w PSU i would upgrade that to a 700 (have a 650w at home too corsair)

maybe ill just start buying parts slowly but surely i could use my existing GPU as a stand in, i think all i would need is ram, mobo, a new case, SSD and a 1tb (or higher) HDD could even use my existing HDD though it is getting on a bit could atleast be a stand in i suppose.

sorry for all my questions, would a H81 mATX mobo be good for a medium-end build? or is it worth splashing on a slightly bigger Mobo?

H81 boards are the majority of recommendations from me. Typically the Asus H81-E because I have the bios that can OC the Pentium G3258.

A good start would be the i5 4440 and that board, 8GB cheapest 1600MHz RAM, and instead of a low end SSD like that Kingston get a Samsung EVO or Crucial MX100 instead.

If you have a 650w Corsair, use it. Saves you cash.

thanks for the info much appreciated! i've decided to just bite the bullet and build my own will take about 3months but worth it in the end i think.

i usually buy my stuff from amazon/ebay but do you know of anywhere cheaper or even more specialised for computer parts? having said that i will go and look at some of the stickies as this may be but a click away.

also this seems cheap to me for a mobo, something like this would be ok? last question i swear! *chuckles* if not im sorry to be a pain any particular H81-E?

Yea it's cheap, but that's the point. Intel boards all basically offer the same basic features just certain ones offer more enthusiast features like the Z97.
They're all pretty much rock solid for budget builds though.

been looking at this NZXT Source 210 ELITE Midtower Case with 3.0 USB - White: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories for a case, the only thing im worried about is airfow and im no expert on this though im reading a lot of reviews this seems to be the best-built one for around that price (saving for more powerfull gpu etc) would this provide enough airflow and space for a 770?
