Hello,

So this will be my first time building a computer and what better place to get some help in the internet than here. I'm not too sure on how to check compatibility and many other things, but I've put up a list of the parts that I'd like to buy. Let me know if they work together, if there are better pieces for the same price, etc.. I'm not gonna be running anything crazy like Crysis, I usually play WoW and will be playing the xpack, but with a nice computer I might as well try these new games, and I'd like to know how well this will do. Much appreciated =)

Once again, thanks for taking time on reading this.

for a little bit more, you could get a 4850 instead of the 3870, don't believe the guy in the reviews that says he wouldn't trade it for anything on the market because of his 3DMark06 scores, he has a very high end cpu and that helps his score greatly, the 4850 is better than the 3870...

I won't be running any crazy games, just WoW and its xpack when it comes out. Now, will the system with the 3870 bottleneck? is it going to work nicely together?

nice nice :)

also, as a first timer building a comp, anything special I should know or be aware of? I've seen a few videos on how to build one and took my old broken computer apart hehe

That's good practice. Be very careful. Lay everything on something that's not static. Don't rush. If you drop something, be careful when taking it out. I accidentally cut my fingers on the motherboard and spilled blood everywhere. Luckily when I noticed it had only dropped on the back of the case. Plug in all the case connectors to the motherboard first, then plug in everything else. Expansion cards being the last. Put the DVD/CD drives and the HDD before you put in the motherboard. Mount any fans before putting in the DVD/CD/HDD. Mount RAM, CPU, and HSF on the motherboard before you put it in. Make sure to use the standoffs. Power supply goes in last.

another thing... i keep reading about video cards and power supply railings, i have no idea what they are and how it affects the video card, will there be a problem between my power supply and the 3870?
