new computer

hey.. i posted new comp specs quite some time ago for my first build but things got busy in life so i didnt have time. now i am going to make a 2nd attempt at my first build.

i'm looking to spend between 800 and 900 dollars. i'm a little confused what CD rom drive i should get.. i'd like to save money where possible. i'm also not sure if i should get a 6800GS or 7600GT.. everyone says the 6800GS is great and i dont really know anyone with the 7600GT, but its like 20 bucks cheaper.
i will be using the comp for some gaming, btw.

well I would consider going with socket AM2 as it's newer and supports DDR2 ram.


The socket AM2 3800+ is a great choice

I prefer the coolermaster 530. Just a personal thing. Get an Enermax Liberty or Antec Truepower PSU.

Get the 3800+ instead

7600GT is faster

You can get Corsair XMS for the same price w/ rebate.
