new case

You should be able to just pull the old one out and stick it in the new one. It might be held on with screws, too.

all motherboards come with it's own plate for the back of your case. the one on the case now should be able to be snap/bend off. then out of your old case the plate should just slide out. do not snap/bend this one because it's not needed. then just take that plate and slide it into the new cases back spot the plate goes.

They tend to be attached with a strange dual aluminium edge. You simply apply pressure to one side of the backplate and SNAP it out, literally. Then, once it is out, SNAP the new one in. WALLA!

The only reason why the backplate is so snug is because of the motherboard pressing against it. It can barely hold on by itself. I can poke one finger at it and poof, it pops back into the case (it was flimsy everytime I make a new build). Yeah, but once the motherboards in there, it stays on for life.
