i got to build a good budget gaming maching and i was wondering how good 3 sticks of 512 would work but 1gig is too small and 2gig is really burning a hole in a pocket because if i get 2gigs i wont be able to replace my ati radeon 9250 regular pci =(

Just get two sticks of 512MB for now and put them in dual channel. Then upgrade later as money allow. I'm running 1GB right now (2x512MB DDR) and it's terrific.

ya im buying a mother board with 4 slots and 1gig aint bad and another set of 512 sticks of corsair is only 80$ at newegg. i was just worried 4 sticks would slow the ram but with dual channel i guess it would be like having 2 sticks non dual performance wise
