How do someone or a company verify if you really are a tittle holder of a netorking cert like ccna or mcse? aside from showing your card and your skills? can the company verify it online..? im just curious...

thx!

I know compTia has sort of an evite type thing where it will send a legit email out to your future emplorer saying that hey this guy holds certification X. Cisco has a certification track progress page but I don't know if you can send it to anyone. I would say a card and a certificate would be enough in most cases.

Yes, with Cisco, they can look it up online...

Here is a link to the CISCO Certification Tracking System.

The actual Cisco Cert has a valadation number printed in the lower left corner. You give that to employer or future employer, and they plug it into that tool, and the tool comes back with name and other info to verify that you have the Cert... I can only assume other vendors would have a similar system.
