Nero kernel errors

I've just recently began expermenting with burning vcd, managed to download nero 5.5.9. When I try using nero express to encode I get a warning message which reads"nero has caused an error in Kernel32.dll nero will have to close" I haven't been able to figure out how to correct this and it's driving me crazy, I've tried applying a plugin but that failed as well can someone help? I'm running windows me, Ive checked and it seems nero has been save in temp file in windows, i read this could be a problem but I have no idea how to correct it, anyone have any solutions///////////////////////Kam
