Need USB microphone

I have a good friend that needs a microphone for chatting on Skype and doing his radio show. Right now the one he has the cord is a mess and doesn't look like it can be fixed. I'll put a new cord on next time we get together. That's not looking any time soon though.

So what I'm wanting to do is some thing nice for him and his lady. I need to find a desk mic or a hand held with a good desk stand. His voice is sort of lower mid range so it needs to have wide range. The one he has now is one with separate USB for power and a plug for the audio.

Budget is $50.00usd max.

Have a look for some of the cheaper condensor mics that are coming out of china.

they have very good frequency response and often come with a fairly decent shock mount. essentially ready to roll.
