I am using azureus to download torrent files but they are going surprisingly slow... I use DSL at 10Mpbs and my downloads are only going at an average of 5 to 10 kbps, thatÂ’s not good... is there a way to speed that up through the windows operating system, such as disabling firewalls, blocks, ect... If anyone knows how please give me instructions on how to do this.

Thanks

torrent files are only downloaded according to the number of people that have the file. so if only one person is uploading the file, its going to go pretty slow. My only suggestion is to check the max download rate in azureus...I cant tell you how, because i use bitcomet.

my friend turned off his firewall and his download speeds trippled

and I only download files that have good health and many seeders...

but thanks for the insight

Azureus is one of the 'slower' BT clients out there. Even with large numbers of seeders you won't go above 50kb/s (even on high speed connections)

Use bitcomet and see how that works out, its much faster/stable.

I use bit-tornado and ive commonly reached speeds of 100kb+ on dsl. Where on the regular bitorrent i would rarely reach about 1/3 of that ever. Not sure about bitcomit though, try both if you want.
