Need Help with Torrent file!!

Ok so I downloaded a torrent of a video file, its extension is .AVI, and there is no video, it just sits on a screen as time passes on the movie saying I need a codec, any ideas? I tried using Nero to fix it with no luck.

Ok I want to burn this file to DVD though, does this program fix the issue??

Nope. It will let you watch it, though. Normally I leave my vids as AVI files and put them on DVDs like that. they take up less room that way, and I use my computer(s) as my media centers anyway.

You need something like Nero to convert the format, if that is what you want to do with it.

Ok maybe I wasn't clear lol. I already tried Nero. The file just sits on a screen while the movie time goes by- Telling me to go download a codec. No movie is there, just the screen.

Maybe you need a divx or ac3 codec.

you could also use the program G-Spot. It will tell you exactly what type of codec you'll need.
