I was talking about from the 2000 machine to the XP.

Maybe the Darren account or the account you are logging on at the 2000 machine are not part of the adminsitrative group. Check Control Panel/Administrative tools/Computer Management.

Check Share/Share folder for listing of shares and hidden shares available on the computer

Check Local User and Group/Users, double click on the user to see it's propertie and group that it's in.

do i do this on the 2000?

Try using the Guest account. You will need to enable and SET PASSWORDS for this account on BOTH machines.

You can also modify the permissions for this user by managing the account.

Setup both Guest accounts then try to login once again by connecting to a SHARED folder instead of an Admin share.

Create new folders on both desktops. Name them both "SHARE".

Allow users "Modify" persmissions on both folders.

connect via run line.

\\machinename\share Login using Un: Guest pw: whatever you set.

i made a new folder on the xp's desktop called share and i right clicked and hit sharing button and it didn't pull anything up...

yes i see the 2000 hard drive.. but i want to be able to see the xp hard drive from the 2000 computer
