I dont know THAT much about hardware, ive built computers before but I always get multiple opinions before I buy so thats what im doin here again. My moms getting her masters soon so im building her a new comp for a present because the one she has now sucks. She mainly uses it for web surfing, some video games but nothing demanding, pretty much general usage although that might change after this. This is what I want to build her not including the peripherals.

I have a copy of windows 7 x64 to install on a USB flashdrive, im pretty positive that board will allow it but if not I can get it burned onto a DVD. _______________________________________________________________________

Any input or reccommendations would be greatly appreciated because as I said before I dont really know that much about hardware.

It looks like you have some good parts there. I don't recommend you go for socket 775, its old and its nearing its end. I recommend you go with either AMD , or intel i5.

I dont think my mom would really like that case. What if I were to swap out the CPU & Mobo with

BIOSTAR TForce TA790GX A3+ AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor Model ADX620WFGIBOX - Retail

Yes that would work.

I was going to suggest this CPU, its the same price as the intel, but if you want to save money and go for the 620 propus thats fine, its good too.

Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

You can pair it with whichever AM3 board you like. Also, make sure to change your ram to DDR3 ram (same price as DDR2).. But be sure to tell us which board you're gonna go with so we know for sure whether the ram is compatible or not (give links to board and ram).

I was looking at that as well, then I realized what she'll be using it for and it's already passed over kill lol. Sorry I thought I posted the links as well, heres the board and new RAM. Any recommendations are still appreciated. Thanks for callin out the DDR3 too I totally overlooked that.

Yea that'll work fine. It is a little brave of you to choose a board that no one has rated yet... :p but i don't forsee a problem, lol

Good Luck

Maybe I can be the first lol, I've never had any problems with Biostar yet....we shall see. Thanks for your help!
