Now that I have your attention, I'm not downloading RAM lol. I am buying more RAM for my system, but I heard that certain MOBO's can only support a certain amount of RAM. I have: ASUS H81M-E LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com with Win 8.1 64bit, a GTX 970, and an Intel i5 4460k @ 3.2gz, and 8GB 1600 DDR 3 RAM at the moment. I want to get 16 GB of RAm, this kind specifically: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL - Newegg.com I just want to know if the myth of certain MOBO's only supporting a certain amount of RAM is true, an if it is, would this RAM be compatible with my system?

H81 is limited to 16GB according to the specs.

woo thanks man

EDIT: I just saw there were specs on newEgg.. wow im stupid. the specs say "memory Standard: DDR3 1600/1333/1066" and the RAM I want is 1866mhz. Will the MOBO still support the RAM?

For high speed RAM an XMP profile is required and if the board doesn't have support for the profile it won't work. It'll just revert to an auto speed which normally is 1333.
