Hi to you all,

I have an important question to you all :) I hope i explain it right.

If there is an PC with an local user and the pc is not in the company domaine is there the possiblity that the Sophos Firewall catchs the internet logs of the user ?

Or they just have acces of the local on logs of the pc of the internet navigator ?

Thank you all for your answers,

Regards,

If the computer is connected to the corporate network, then yes, the traffic can still be logged by the firewall because it is still sending traffic through the firewall - depending on how the network is setup that is. Unless the company has a separate network for other systems (like a guest network) - but my guess is that it would still be monitored and be passed through a firewall / log.

Point is - don't look at porn / questionable sites and work and you'll be fine ;).

Thank you a lot for your answer.

But they canot reconize the user behind the logs ? They just got the ip adresse of the PC right ?

Thank you in advance for your answer :)

That depends on the setup of the network. Is there no login? If you are talking about a open wifi hotspot provided by your company then they can get the IP address (which technically they give to you) and MAC address. Unless your spoofing then they can tie the MAC back to you later. But if you are just using it for web browsing during office hours and it's open to the public i doubt they would track you down. If you are using it for illegal purposes then you are on your own.
