Here's the thing, a cd player just broke so i have 2 spare generic bookshelf speakers, generic like i said, but still sound better than my rear Z5500 speakers. So would i damage my Z5500 if i plugged in the red/black wires from the new bookshelf like speakers into the back of the Z5500 sub were the amplifier is, and were all the red/black cables plug in.

What are the specs of the generic speakers?

You need to find the impedance of both the Z5500 satellites and the Bookshelf speakers.

If the impedance is lower it will overdrive the amp and possibly damage it.
