Small update to this setup. I've replaced the upstairs gigabit switch with a 5th generation AirPort Extreme. Just because really. Found one dirt cheap so I've disabled it's wireless AP and I'm just using it as a gigabit switch. But now at least I can manage it, and it shows up in the AirPort Utility app.

I'll post up a screen grab of the network map for those interested later.

Can anyone give me some ideas what I can rename these devices?

Just seems a bit boring leaving them named like that. Seen other people use Starship names or Greek Gods. I need inspiration!

Apple has released an AirPort Utility app update today. Good to see they're still supporting it, despite closing down their AirPlay hardware division last year.

They also released a firmware update for the AirPort Express last week, adding Airplay 2 functionality to it.
