My Battery Indicator Won't Show Up

I have a laptop with Windows XP on it and I can't get the battery indicator to show up anymore on the bottom system tray like it used to, I went into the settings and tried to make it work from there but it won't. Any suggestions anything is better than nothing, thanks.

I'm not on a laptop computer, but try this:

Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options -> Advanced -> Always Show Power Icon in Taskbar

Thanks, I tried it but it did not work, I already have it selected I might have to call the manufacturer of the laptop its just one of things that can drive you nuts when you want to know how much battery is left having to go through the power options and stuff. It used to be there but not anymore, thanks again for trying.

...the icon isn't hidden in the taskbar tray...is it ?

how do find that out. sorry dont know much about all the workings of a computer.

...Click it to expand the tray, to reveal the hidden icons.

tried that and nothing is hidden and it is said to show always
