Need to find a moboard to replace the MSI N1996. I have an HP Pavillion 772n. If possible I want to use all components installed on the current board. Any suggestions?

just be shure to match the same specs as the old one. and a quick google search didnt turn any thing up on that model num for the mobo. mabye a cpuz screenshot would help

there 's only a few on newegg that are micro atx form factor but you have a couple of options this Newegg.com - BIOSTAR P4M80-M4 478 VIA P4M800 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards which uses the same type of ram or this one Newegg.com - BIOSTAR P4M900M4 478 VIA P4M900 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards and this one Newegg.com - MSI 945GCM478-L 478 Intel 945GC Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards use newer ddr2 memory which is very cheap(like 1gig for like 20 bucks) and has a pci express slot for a good video card. but the first one will work for your setup with no new ram. but last 2 need ddr2 ram. which is also faster than the ddr ram your board takes.
