Hey guys,

Just a very quick one, what's with the new motherboards needed 2 x 4 pin connectors in them? Do they absolutely need it?

I did a friends build the other day (first 1 for a few years) and the mobo needed 2 x 4 pin connectors, I ignored this and just put the 1 in it and it seems to be working fine?

Hmmmm maybe, it's rather strange?

Google doesn't return too much info on it either?

It's additional power for the CPU and other high current draw aspects of the motherboard. You'll need both plugged in as they add more hardware. And if you drive the case and CPU fan off the motherboard, you'll need them for sure.

By the way. If you don't plug in at least one, the motherboard will not start up.
