Monitor/video card problems

I moved my computer recently and when i set it back up my 24 inch gateway monitor only is on during boot up and displays up until the windows loading screen is done. After that the screen goes blank and the monitor gets no signal. I have used this gateway monitor for 5 months now but first time i completely shutup my computer and moved it

This happened to me before and what i did was hook up my original dell monitor and that got a signal so i just went into my video card panel and picked my gateway monitor. The only problem now though is i don't have that dell monitor.

Try booting into safe mode and setting the resolution to something low that the monitor can handle better. If that doesn't help, try opening up your computer and make sure all cables, wires, peripherals (video card, memory, etc) are fully connected and seated.

Is there more than one plug on the computer for a monitor? If there is, try the other one(s).
