Monitor trouble

I have a friend who has a computer that does not work with a certain monitor it just goes to standby mode. I take that monitor and hook it up to my pc and it works and try one of my monitor to his computer and it works also. please help.

It may have settings (other computer) that the monitor can't handle.

Try running VGA mode (press F8 right before windows startup)
