monitor that connects via serial port?

hello, i got a couple of older monitors that look like they connect via serial cable. (one end male and the other female). i tired to hook it up to an older computer and the screen is just blue, and when i unplug it its grey. is there a special way to hook it up, oh and by the way it has an acelerated video card in it, would that stop the serial monitor from working?, thanks

Monitors WILL NOT hook up to serial ports, please stop trying this.

However i think your monitors are really old, i have seen that kind of connector before on a monitor

it sounds to me like you have some terminal monitors! Hooray! Those things are useless man. Take them to the electronics recycler nearest to you unless you wanna keep it around for nostalgia.

These monitors are designed for old 286 and older. The ancient age monitors cannot work with your PC as the onboard graphics is now VGA, not Serial.

I have found a couple of them in the garbage too, but I decided not to keep them as they are space filler.
