Monitor resolution problem

My screen resolution is currently 1680x1050 and i would much prefer it to be 1920x1080, which it says is recommended although when i go to change it it cuts off a bit of the right side of the screen. There are no buttons on my monitor apart from the power button. If i can't put it on 1920x1080 that's fine but i would prefer it on that. The make/model of my PC is ASUS desktop PC CM1740 series and the model number of the monitor is S22A100N.

Is there an auto adjust button on the monitor. If there is try hitting the auto adjust button on your monitor and see if that will fix the problem. Hope this helps.
