Mixing RAM speeds

Well, my computer is down at the shop where i work, on the desk in pieces waiting for a mobo replacement. I have 2x2GB Corsair Vengeance RAM i intend to put back into it, but now i have 4 slots on the mobo instead of just two, so i'm considering putting one of my old RAM sticks in (2GB 1333MHz) and a stick that my boss said i can use (2GB DDR3 1060GHz). Now, there's three different speeds there, 1060, 1333 and 1600, but would that affect my system in any negative way? i know my system would only be running it's memory at 1060MHz for all of the sticks, but would it be damaging in anyway?

i suppose i'm really asking what is better, 4GB at 1600 or 8GB at 1060?

It shouldn't damage anything. I do it all the time when I can't match speeds.

As for what's better... That's hard to say. It really depends on what you are going to be doing and if you need 8GB of RAM. If you never use more than four gigs, then the 4 gigs of faster ram would do you best.
