I have always felt as you do. If something is working well for you, there is no need for change, just for the sake of change.
However, I'm sure you recognize that the days of 32bit apps, and software that will run on Xp, are surely numbered. At some point, you just won't be able to hold onto it any longer.
I'm not sure where your'e going with this? Windows 7 primarily shipped in 32 bit versions and Windows XP and 7 both have 64 bit options.
