Hi, i was talking to a friend on msn messenger, when all of a sudden i got a message from "them".. i know no it was the virus,er w/e it is..

It says something like Heh, is this really you? then a link to Heh, is this really you <bad link removed.>

I being stupid clicked on it, and it said loading.. asked me to d/l a file and i said no.. but then all of a sudden it acted sort of as a generator and about 20 windows opened then closed.. then my msn it sent 10 'im's out to people saying that heh, is this reall you, thing...

I ran a spyware scan, found 77 entries (Spy bot S/D)

I then ran a quick virus scan with avast antivirus, and it found no viruses..

My question is have ne of you delt w/ this before?

And what would you do to make sure nothings is hidden/ changed from this..

Thanks

David

okay.

Don't tell me that is the link that gave u the virus! If it is then remove it ASAP, someone might click it.

Try this.

start -> run -> msconfig -> startup

and then uncheck if u get something virus/spyware related. If u don't know what those processes are then use google. And be sure that u don't uncheck any important stuff!

its probably running in the memory like what mam said

i recommend downloading hijackthis
hijackthis

run that and take out anything that says msn in their

or just save the log and post it on here

good luck
