Yes, when using only two sticks they should be installed in the blue slots fro dual channel operation.

However, you can also run all three sticks in dual channel mode as shown in this pic from the manual:

Atomic Rooster, So that means I should put the GB sticks in slots 1 and 2 and the 512MB stick in slot 3. Is what I am saying true? Or should I still set the 2GB in the 2 blue slots and the 512MB in one of the black slots?

Yea, that's what I was thinking.

But after reading further down the manual, it might not run in dual channel after all as the memory amounts are uneven. It seems that you may need equal memory amounts on each channel to operate in dual channel mode.

Yes, That is what i am thinking as well. I think I am better off just losing the 512MB in order for my system to run the most efficient, faster way. Do you agree with me?

Yes, the two 1GB sticks running in dual channel will give the best performance results.
