memory question

Because of the limitation of my board with the RAM I have on hand.. if I use all 4 slots for 2GB, then dual channel turns off and the 400mhz ram bumps down to 333mhz. All modules are 400mhz.

that is not my problem,, i know that is due to limitations of my board With the memory I have on hand.

the question,
Is it more beneficial to have 2Gb of ram at 333mhz,
or 1Gb dual channel 400mhz?

depends on the program. some programs use more than 1GB RAM, and they may benefit.
most programs don't use 1GB RAM, and don't benefit from 2GB

if you frequently use programs that take up more than 1GB, then 2GB would be better
