Memory / Memtest86+ Question

I have an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard in which I just stuck 2GB of PC3200 DDR. I noticed when I did a memtest86+ that it reports the RAM running at 157MHz (DDR314) / CAS: 2.5-3-3-7 Dual Channel (128 bits). A quick google for RAM for this system turned up DDR333 RAM. Is the downclock because the RAM is wrong, or is this just an incorrect report by Memtest86+?

Cheers,

Charles

I had the same problem when testing RAM on an old Pentium 4 rig I found.

What does CPUZ report? If it's correct then ignore the reading in Memtest.

Check the memory speed in the BIOS. If it shows it's running at 157MHz, you should be able to set it correctly to 200MHz.
