So as I'm putting together a computer I'm building, I notice a paper that comes with my mobo (Intel DG965ry).. it says that only DDR2-800 memory with 1.8V operation and 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 timings are supported.. otherwise it may result in memory initialization errors or no POST/boot situation
The RAM i ordered is a CORSAIR XMS2 2GB and the timings are 4-4-4-12 and 2.1V
Are there any risks in seeing if the RAM would work? (IE - burning it out or something) I'd like to try it, but if there's a risk I'd rather just return it and get something with the proper timings and voltages
