Well obviously we all know that Mozilla FireFox is my favorite web browser. Thats no secret at all. In-fact if your not using, for example your still using Internet Explorer6 you should really read this “hack” and see how much better firefox can be and do for you. Lets continue shall we?
Well its no secret that Firefox has Tabbed browsing, Faster reaction time, smoother performance and virtually no pop ups at all with built in Google toolbar, as well as many many other nice features. So Today weÂ’re going to focus on how to make Firefox faster, (thats right faster than it is) and Enable the advanced options for our Tabbed browser options. IÂ’ll Also tell you how to make Firefox compatible with old extentions, and run directly from a Flash Disk (aka USB Flash drive).
Step 1:
in the URL address bar type in about:config
Step 2:
Find browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs Double click on it so that it changes from False to True. (this is based on the 1.0.7 version)
Step 3 for 1.5 users.
If you do not have this in your list, Right click > New > Boolean
For the preference name Enter browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs and for the Boolean Value enter 1 (this is true)
Whats this do you ask? This enables advanced tab options in your TOols/Options Page.
Now Lets make Firefox Faster shall we?
Step 1:
Find network.http.pipelining Double click on it so that is changes from False to True.
Step 2:
Find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Double click on it and change it from 4 or 8 to 100.
What do both of those do your questioning?
Well for one your enabling Pipelining in Firefox. 2, Default is 8 threads to each page, well Basically if you thought it was fast before just wait till weÂ’re all done
Moving forward. Most people donÂ’t know about the cool features in Firefox. So now weÂ’re going to make Firefox Look good as well as make it work FOR us.
Visit the Mozilla Firefox theme page. I personally use the Noia eXtreme skin updated for 1.5. But you can choose any one that looks good to you.
Now lets make Firefox work FOR us shall we?
One of the best features for Firefox is the fact that its ability to use Extentions. At the current time of me writing this there ate 869 extensions, I will only cover a few of them that I use.

Adblock: This removes inline ads.
Bookmarks Synchronizer: Save your bookmarks to an XML file and to sync with an FTP server. This will help or can help keep your work, home, and or school bookmarks in current order.
Digger: Navigate to parent directories, switch to ftp equivalent of an http site or vis versa and more features.
Download Sort: Automatically send downloads to specific folders based on the files extension type.
Gmail Notifier: Lets you know if you have new Gmail for those that use Gmail.com
Google Pagerank Status: Lets you see the Google Pagerank of the current page your viewing.
RefSpoof: “Spoofers” are common now, This displays the full address of the page your on to make sure your not going to some site you shouldn’t be.
Spiderzilla: Allows you to download a entire website to a local directory.
Super DragAndGo: Drag a link to blank space on a webpage and make it open in a new tab.
SwitchProxy: Manage and Switch between multiple proxies.
User Agent Switcher: Switch the user agent of your browser.
Mouse Gestures: This is the “Mouse Gestures” firefox extension. Basically, to go forward you draw a line from left to right while holding down the mouse button, to go back you draw a line from right to left while holding down, to close draw a L, to open a new page, from bottom to top - there are other options such as switch tabs, source, view cookies, etc.
I have personally found this to make my browsing experience much easier and much more reflexive (I donÂ’t think about pressing the back button, so much as automatically drawing it); when I do use internet explorer oftentimes I right click by accident.
X: This gives any current toolbar a “paranoia” button. Click it and it will clear your History, Form Info, Saved passwords, download history, cookies, cache, etc.
Faster Fox: This extension automatically employs the link prefetching, network tweaking, pop-up blocking, along with simultaneous connections and MANY more. View the settings, and Set to MAX. This will help with your tweak I showed you earlier in this tweak.

Sick of google ads on EVERYONEÂ’S page? Well lets tell firefox that we donÂ’t want to see them anymore. This hack will remove at least 95% of all ads include google Ads even from Gmail. *Warning removing these ads may violate the TOS of Gmail*
This hack uses the magic powers of CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) and Firefox config file named UserContent.css What weÂ’re going to need is a new extentions called ChromEdit. This will make editing ALOT easier. Now that youÂ’ve installed all those pluginÂ’s and restarted the browser only one more restart and weÂ’re done
Now lets click on Tools, Edit user files. A new window will appear that has 5 tabs across the top. Click on the one labeled userContent.css. Next Copy the code below and paste it in the userContent.css file. Then Save. Now restart and YouÂ’re all done.
