I don't know much about Mac OS. Could I put it on my dell? (not necessarily dual-boot). I know you can run Windows on a mac but would it be possible for me to run Mac on a pc?

Why you would want to is quite beyond me.

Regardless, yes, it is possible, but it is also illegal, and a good chunk of the hardware is likely not to work at all or only partially since drivers are only written by Apple for their hardware.

By the way, just a heads up, please don't ask about it since we don't like people talking about illegal stuff on our forums.

"But it's O-DWEEDS, mon..."

These are about the only one that work, but they are all PRE-PowerPC (that means you cant use many newer programs and they wont boot MacOS 9 or 8.5

If u got a mac os 8.0 or older disk, there ya go. :( ;)

IT IS NOT ILLEGAL IF YOU ALREADY OWN THE MAC U ARE EMULATING.

You're gonna need a old Mac anyway, because it requires you to burn your own Mac ROM. (you can't get that for free and you won't find it free either, you have to get it from your Mac.)

You could also emulate the PPC version using PearPC. Would be very slow, it's more of a concept thing than an everyday computer usage thing.

The best way to run Mac OS X, unfortunately, is just to buy a Mac.

use pearpc. its a powerpc emulator. if you actually bought the OSX disc then you can install it. on my machine i have it on a 15gb partitoin. it lacks a few things like using your real graphics card and no sound >.< but if you need to open mac files or do anyhting mac specific then it really helps. what is you system specs? i have a 2.4ghz athlon64 with 1.5 gigs of ram. i can emulate a G4 at 1.2ghz and i let it use 512mb of my memory and it runs great.

biggest question is why would you want to? linux will perform about 30-40% better, and work natively
