lvllord patch for tcpip.sys

I was looking for ways to speed up BitComet, and I found a link at the bottom of its Wiki page to a patch from LvlLord that increases the number of TCP connection attempts. I checked Event Viewer in Windows, and the error message about hitting the upper limit does occur, so this is a problem I might want to fix... But McAfee says that it's a virus (below). I've found recommendations but no mention of this virus warning. What's going on?
