my boot time is anywhere between 1½ to 2 minutes. i did everything you could possibly do. i changed services, startup options, i don't use the welcome screen anymore, I DONT KNOW!!

at what point does it take the longest to load? POST start up? While the windows load screen is up?

Have you cleaned the registry lately, use a decent registry cleaner, and then once you have done that do not forget to compact the registry.

i did my weekly maintnence yesterday which includes a scan of these programs:
ad-aware se personal
disk cleanup
disk defragmenter
mcafee virus scan
registry booster
spybot s&d
window washer
windows defender

i've gotten rid of all the startup programs i don't need along with some services but i don't know why its going slow.
and at the windows boot screen it stays there for about 15-20 seconds.
a whole system re-do is not an option. i plan on never reinstall my operating since i bought my computer 5 months ago.

Yeah, try illiminating some start-up processes, but it down to the bare minimum. Also, it just may be your hard drive going bad, and somehow it is not being detected. Hope this helps!

i've unchecked all the ones i don't need, but theres still lots i do need.
i don't think its the hard drive...unless gateway have me a crap hard drive. its a: Western Digital (WDC WD2000BB-00GUC0).
