Good idea, but I can't honestly see it being too popular. The average consumer doesn't care about Linux, open source, etc. They just want something that looks nice and is easy to use.

I mean, looks aren't everything, but that won't sell in this market...

it doens't look as good as the Iphone,

and for the average consumer, they don't really care what particular OS their phone runs! nobody is buying an iphone for a robust unix core type stability that OSX is supposed to bring people! they're buying them cause they look good, and apple is (after the ipod) a cool consumer product company, people want to own apple hardware.

Linux isn't cool.
and nor is that phone.
