looking to buy a laptop

Hi could some one please help / advise on a good laptop for around £300 -£400 i have looked at the Toshiba L450D-128 AMDX2DUAL-CORE QL64
Acer 5738 with the T4300 (2.1Ghz
Avent Roma 3000 T4300 ( 2.1Ghz
Compaq CQ61-320sa AMD 11DUAL CORE M300

but as you have probably found out i know nothing about computers it is just for my son to go on the net /some homework
